Engineering Capabilities

Industry Leading Technology

We use the very latest in technological advances to ensure our customers’ evolving standards are always met.

Design
Flexibility

Our CAD, CAM, Fixture, and Metrology departments work hand in hand to implement engineering modifications seamlessly.

Unparalleled Accuracy

Attention to detail and premier equipment combine for outstanding accuracy.

On-Time
Delivery

A dedicated team of professionals accommodates even the most aggressive timelines.

Our talented team of Certified SolidWorks™ CAD engineers use the latest design tools to turn your ideas into reality.

Most jobs begin in the CAD department with our designers, where the majority of design and dimensional work is performed. Starting with a customer’s part blueprint, electronic model, or even a napkin sketch, we’ll create a 3D model used for additive or subtractive manufacturing.

Our CAD software not only has complete design and manufacturing capabilities, it is also fully compatible with other CAD systems through its converters. If a 3D CAD model already exists, we’ll use it in the manufacturing the tooling. When the CAD work is done, the job then moves on to the Sand Print, Pattern Shop, Metal Shop, or Fixture Dept depending on what type of equipment is required for the next phase of pattern build.

Metrology

Metrology, the science of measurement, plays a crucial role in our engineering services. Our Creaform™ Scanner can handle anything from reverse engineering existing equipment, to verifying accuracy on a new tool. Our engineers work to ensure the accuracy, precision and consistency of all measurements, to guarantee a final product that meets our clients’ rigorous standards.

Using the MetraSCAN3D™ optical CMM scanner, our engineers are able to produce quality scans quickly and efficiently. The MetraSCAN3D features 15 laser crosses and a high measurement rate for accelerated scanning, shortening workflow and saving time in data measurement, acquisition and analysis. And thanks to the scanner’s insensitivity to shop floor vibrations, part movement, and environmental instability, our engineers can reliably measure intricate designs with accuracy of 0.025mm, delivering accurate products to our clients every time.

Fixtures

Regardless of your production standards, our fixtures will help you achieve your goals. We use CAD and CAM technology for peace of mind on every casting. All fixtures are designed in the CAD system on a 3D model, per our customers’ requests. We have the capability to build many different types of fixtures, including qualifying target fixtures, CNC machining fixtures, casting straightening fixtures, and inspection fixtures.

When a design is complete, it is presented to the customer for approval before construction begins. Most parts are simultaneously cut in the CNC department with minimal turnaround thanks to our 12 different mills. The finished fixture is usually ready when the pattern equipment is delivered. Our team can also plot out and provide a drawing of the fixture when necessary.
